Self-taught painter, born shortly after World War II, from artistic parents, (father musician, mother watercolorist), Erver (Regine Vergonzanne) begins very early in the drawing (ink and pastel) and painting (watercolor and oil).
Her first creations tend toward the figurative until her brother, German teacher, led her to discover Gustav Klimt. She loves his work immediately as it evolves. The colorful geometric abstract by Paul Klee also seduces her.
But it is mainly the work of Maria-Elena Vieira da Silva and Zao Wou-Ki and also Salvador Dali who decide the direction to abstract painting.
The mineral, vegetable, the mysteries of the universe have always been the main sources of her inspiration. Slowly, she moves away from the drawn and indulges in random gesture, to better transcribe the unexpected emotions.
Thus she approaches the European current of Lyrical Abstraction in the heart of the Informal Art..
Technically, Erver uses mainly oil paint, natural pigments (no synthetics product) which allows her to imbue her paintings with a smooth finish leading the world in the eye of a poetic and inspired abstraction.
